One of my favorite manga series is Precarious Woman Executive Miss Black General, a very wacky lampoon of the mask and cape world. I also enjoy a number of titles in the yuri genre. Superwomen in Love! looked like a series that could give me the best of both worlds and I looked forward to reading it. Sadly, it was a classic case of expectation far exceeding the actual event. Superwomen in Love! proved very disappointing as neither the plot nor the characters succeeded in drawing me in. I found it hard to see Rapid Rabbit and Honey Trap as a potential couple. As for Honey Trap's former outfit Antinoid, it came across as a pale imitation of Black General's RX and none of the members we met could hold a candle to Black General, Secretary or GG-chan. Perhaps someone will do a great yuri superhero series, but Superwomen in Love! isn't it. I can't truly add more to this series that others haven't already commented on. To me it was simply OK, a series I'll probably pick up when I'm caught up with all my current Manga. I love the premise, Lady Villain beats Heroine but falls in love at first sight, however the actual story to me falls flat. I would love more of a build up, several chapters of it would have helped the story. Such as the villain Honey Trap fighting the Heroine Rapid Rabbit several times until finally Honey Trap emerges victorious. Perhaps in between the 2 meet and thats were the romance blossomed. Instead its a single chapter and the battle is done in 3 panels, the hero doesn't even seem to react and she's beaten, gets her costume removed and Honey Trap is smitten at first sight and retreats. Then not more than 2 pages later Rapid Rabbit comes across a wounded Honey Trap who apparently gets kicked out of the villain league and welcomes her into her home. The pacing is... just not good.Besides the intro the rest of the story is Rapid Rabbit fighting crime with Honey Trap helping from the shadows or along side her, all the while trying to woo the Heroine. Meanwhile Rapid Rabbit is a bit clueless but just accepts her unconditionally.The art is well done, the characters are fairly interesting, the idea behind the story has potential, but will need to see how well it gets later. As someone else mentioned, it borrowed a lot from Precarious Woman Executive Miss Black General, the design of the villain leader seems like a total copy and genderswap. The humor is somewhat present, like it takes the over the top body acting from various Japanese masked superheroes, so tends to poke fun at the genre.All in all, probably would have enjoyed it more if the build up was alot more than what it was. Other things could have helped improve upon it even, like perhaps a bit of fan-service. Like do the transformation scenes with a bit of fan service, or since the villains transform very similar to Cutey Honey by taking a gun-like device and shooting themself in the chest or injecting it that way, make it somewhat similar to that series. I'd have loved a Ecchi Cutey Honey series were the villainess falls for the heroine in that style.Either way, it gets a 3 from me.
